Technological laboratory

In 1965 the Technological Laboratory was established at the Institute to link the academic science with the branch scientific research institutes and industry, later it was transformed to the Department of Technology.
The first Head of the Laboratory was Dr. A. A. Muslinkin. Since 1998 the Laboratory was supervised by Dr. Il’dar M. Magdeev. Since 2012 the Head of the Laboratory is Doctor of Chemistry Vasilii Miluykov (Email: miluykov@iopc.ru; vasili.miluykov@mail.ru).

The Laboratory is placed in a separate two-storeyed building of the area of 2320 sq. meters and includes the Technological Laboratory, Pilot-Scale Production, Chemical-Technological and Glass-Blowing Sections. The Laboratory is instrumented with almost all types of chemical equipment, required for the pilot lines construction and the new technologies
development.

Main directions of activity

• The development of technologies for half-industrial production of practically important substances and materials, developed at the Institute.
• The production of pilot batches of these substances and materials.

All the innovation projects of IOPC are realized under active participation of the Technological Laboratory.
So, the technologies for manufacturing the drug substances for medicine and veterinary are developed in recent years. The Laboratory produces pilot batches of substances of immunomodulatory preparations Dimephosphon and Xymedon, as well as antitumoral preparation Glyciphon, the drug dosage forms of these preparations are issued at the JSC ‘Tatkhimpharmpreparaty’. Veterinary preparation Vetamex for increasing the safety and productivity of agricultural animals is developed in cooperation with Kazan State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Russian Scientific-Research Veterinary Institute.
The technology for production of more than 100 titles of propylene glycol and oil extracts was developed on the basis of the results of scientific-research work on the extraction of biologically active substances from vegetable raw material. The pilot batches of extracts of up to 100 tons per year are used at the Kazan and Yekaterinburg enterprises for household chemical goods production.
The composition and technology for obtaining the isolation lubricant ‘Metros’, used for application on vertical and horizontal surfaces of steel constructional formworks at forming the concrete products at the ‘Kazmetrostroy’ enterprise, are developed.
Specialized areas were organized for the realization of the Institute innovation-oriented projects, providing conditions for the work with elemental phosphorus, volatile flammable liquids, as well as for electrochemical synthesis of organic compounds.
The high-technological and environmentally safe method for the electrochemical chlorination and phosphorylation of hydrocarbons is developed.
The technological area for processing renewable vegetable raw material and biogas production has been organized.
